Membership and Event Coordinator Position

The goal of this position is to facilitate and grow connections within the body of Christ at NorthRidge Church.  This will involve a commitment to encourage and participate in organizing opportunities for the membership of the church to be involved in ministry and to ensure our best effort in connecting those who visit the church find a place to connect.  Ultimately, this position is responsible for assimilating church members and volunteers in all ministry areas of the Church.  This job description serves as framework through which assimilation may best occur.  Adjustments may be made along the way as better venues are discovered.

General

  • Assist the pastoral staff in the typing of letters, making phone calls, faxes, e-mails, etc.
  • Check daily e-mails on Northridge’s main e-mail address and follow them through to their logical conclusion.
  • Utilize social media to effectively communicate the vision and needs of the church and preschool.
  • Prepare annually the church profile, VBS and SBC associational reports.
  • Serve as Church receptionist and coordinate the volunteer receptionists’ schedule.

Membership

  • Develop, implement, maintain, evaluate, adjust and pursue an up-to-date church membership & prospect data base that will assist the Pastoral staff in the leading of a dynamic teaching, care giving and evangelistic Life Group Program both on and off campus. The primary vehicle to accomplish this will be through a well-organized and growing Sunday Morning Life Groups for all ages where all members and eventually prospects are assigned a class to ensure healthy care-giving and outreach. This will include the printing, distribution, collection, and posting of attendance sheets for the entire program along with all other groups and classes held by the Church.
  • In cooperation with the Pastoral staff prepare and maintain all visitation assignments ensuring proper communication with Pastors and Life Groups to their logical conclusion. This includes the sending of an initial formal letter from the Pastor to all first-time visitors, making targeted phone calls to prospects and utilizing the Pathways section of REALM.
  • Prepare and maintain a system for enlisting and coordinating volunteers for all ministries ensuring proper credentials and criteria are met for each position.
  • Send weekly emails to serving teams to remind of the serving commitment and assist team leaders in any needed replacements.
  • See that the Welcome cards, worship and baptismal reports are gathered weekly and all information is updated in REALM.
  • Communicate with church members and regular attenders with weekly emails, bulletin announcements, and telephone calls to clearly communicate the happenings of the Church and Community.

Education

  • Submit annual goals and action plans each year to pastoral staff for refinement and the church for adoption.
  • Answer all communication requests from members and ministry leaders while educating them on the benefits of utilizing our online Church directories.
  • Compile all literature orders for Life Groups and Bible Studies as directed submitting to finance for approval and ordering.
  • Provide support to various ministry lay leaders as needed. Including but not limited to Deacons, SS Teachers, Children’s Ministry Leaders, & NCP Staff, etc.
  • Meet in person with ministry volunteers to schedule new bible studies. This position acts as the coordinator for approving curriculum, submitting budget, calendaring, and communicating to the church body.
  • Plan and coordinate discipleship classes and events utilizing assigned budget, submitting plans and budget requests for approval.

Events & Facilities

  • Plan and coordinate both evangelistic and membership driven events utilizing assigned budget, submitting plans and budget requests for approval.
  • Oversee the official calendar for NorthRidge Ministries. Coordinate with the Facility manager in making sure all areas are covered, from who is opening, who is closing and who is cleaning up. Post all information to website and church calendar.
  • Assign vehicles, rooms and building usage based on availability.  Coordinate with Pastoral Staff to ensure that ministry needs are met.
  • Plan and organize all events in coordination with area specific ministry leaders. Ensuring that facilities, budgets, and requisitions are considered and completed.
  • Coordinate with Publications & Promotions Secretary to insure all events, classes, and ministry opportunities are effectively communicated to the church body.
  • Coordinate weddings and outside use of facilities.
  • Oversee greeter and usher ministry volunteers for all services and events.

Protocol & Policies               

  • Born again believer and committed follower of Jesus Christ, able to demonstrate a clear testimony of salvation and baptism by immersion that followed the salvation experience. 
  • Position requires membership at NorthRidge Church.
  • Demonstrate a team spirit both visually and verbally supporting established protocol and policy.
  • Be creative in work and professional in all communication with people.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must become proficient in REALM software.
  • Position currently requires set work hours Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm with additional hours as needed (36 – 40 hours per week). This position requires the individual to plan and attend events as associated with their job.  This may include evenings and weekends with some flexibility during same work week to accommodate.
  • Position reports directly to Financial Administrator.
  • Salary will commensurate with experience.
