Worship Pastor Search Updates

May 3, 2017 Update

The search team met April 9th to review applications. Emails were sent to the candidates we aren’t pursuing, thanking them for their interest in NorthRidge and prayers for God’s blessing in their continuing efforts to serve the Lord. Emails were sent to the remaining candidates, asking them to indicate their continued interest in the position and their availability for a phone interview.

On April 23rd, we divided applicants we’re pursuing and assigned them to teams of search team members. Phone interviews were held via conference calls. We met April 30th to seek God’s direction as we discussed candidates and information gleaned from phone interviews. Decisions were made: Who will we interview in person? If the applicant lives out of state, who will travel to their current work location to observe him ‘in action’, and ask/answer questions. This is a huge step for the church AND the applicant.

Who is God calling to NorthRidge? Please be in prayer that God’s voice be heard by the search team and the applicants.

April 4, 2017 Update

The application window closed on March 31st.  The Worship Pastor Search Team met on April 9th and prayerfully went through all applications received. The candidate list has been narrowed down and the team is currently reaching out to potential candidates to verify current availability and interest in our position.  The Search Team asks for continued prayer through this process for both the team as well as the candidates.

March 30, 2017 Update

The search team is in the process of evaluating resumes to identify applicants that potentially are a good fit for NorthRidge Church. First interviews will be conducted by phone.

This month is dedicated to seeking God’s direction and hearing His voice. Our timeline and plan is to find the person God is calling to be our worship pastor from the applications we received, on or prior to March 31st. However, our plan isn’t always God’s timeline and plan. ‘Our Verse’ this month will be Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your path.” We need discernment, God’s wisdom, and His leading to know who He is calling to NorthRidge Church. Please pray that we don’t try to fit God into ‘our plan’ and that we listen to Him!

February 23, 2017 Update

Worship Pastor: Up to this point, several job titles have been used to label the position we are seeking to fill: Minister of Music, Worship Leader, and Worship Pastor. The title that best defines what this person will be doing is Worship Pastor. A worship pastor, under the supervision of the senior pastor, is responsible for the overall ministry of worship as well as sharing pastoral duties (visiting hospitals and the homebound, etc.), assisting in planning and conducting special services (weddings, funerals, etc.), and responsibilities in audio/visual technologies. From this point on, we will use the title Worship Pastor in our communications.

The open position of Worship Pastor was posted last week. Applications will be accepted until March 31, 2017. The position is being advertised nationally via online job boards, professional networking sites such as LinkedIn, and at seminaries. We encourage you to share our landing page with friends on social networking sites such as Facebook. Spread the word!

January 22, 2017 Update

The team read a book titled Search by William Vanderbloemen in order to create a common foundation for the task ahead. Meetings to review the book and to determine important points were held January 22 and February 1. An all-day retreat to map out a timeline and plan of action will be held in February. Decisions made at the retreat will drive the next steps as the team works through the month of February.
